My Entry to the Phone Photography Contest - Round 110

After a few days of sunshine, it was overcast today, with a bit of rain in the air. I think the rain made some of the lighter coloured leaves pop a lot more in the wood, next to the dullness of the morning.

I had to look on the Royal Horticultural Society website to find out what these structures in the trees are. Apparently, they are witches’ brooms, which are unusual clumps of twigs and branches that form in trees because of either fungi, pests, diseases, etc. You learn something new every day!

I'm not seeing a lot of fungi about at the moment. I did see some hoof fungus, but everything else was decaying.

I did spot a few forget-me-nots and dandelion clocks, though. I might try growing some forget-me-knots in my communal garden. They spread, so they might cover up a multitude of sins. I walked a bit further along the path, the air smelled more earthy after the rain. After I got home, the sun came out, which is very typical.

Bathed in the rain, the colors of the trees and leaves truly come alive, rendering the greenery absolutely enchanting—without the need for any filters.
