My Entry to the Phone Photography Contest #80

(Edited)

I visited an old school friend of mine this morning who lives in the next county. It is a 40 minute drive from me. I arrived early, so I had a little circular walk in a wood near my friend's house called Boughton Brake Woods, with a mix of pine, conifer, beech and oak trees.

The wood covers a 123 acre area and is managed by the Friends of Boughton Brake (FUBB). The group plants trees, put bird boxes up, create interesting walks for people and generally look after the place.

The good weather came back today, with the sun streaming through the trees. On the wide footpath, there are a few benches scattered around.

Even though the wood looked lovely in the sun, I can imagine it looking even better when it is a misty morning.

I found a few clumps of fungi on old tree stumps. They looked as though they were beginning to rot.

It is a very pretty wood but after a while it was time to go and visit my friend!

Thank you to @untilwelearn for running the contest.
