LOH #303: What My Camera Roll Says About Me (And It’s Not Pretty)

Thank you @priyanarc for the question "What My Camera Roll Says About Me" and for forcing me to look through my photos and do a bit of housekeeping, by which I mean deleting 40 blurred photos of the same suspicious looking mushroom! 😂

​If someone had a nosey through my camera roll, they would probably learn quite a lot about me. Just not what they might expect. You will not find many nicely staged photos of me or selfies, that's for sure.

Most of it is dogs, cats, birds, bees, butterflies, holidays, and random shit I see when I am out and about.

There are plenty of pictures from my walks too. Graveyards, painted pebbles, weird fungi, reflections and shadows. Far too many to post.

I also take quite a lot of graffiti art photos when I go urban exploring. Some are more artistic than others, and some were clearly sprayed by a teenager named Kev at 2 am. 🤔

Some photos are just reminders, and others are entries for Hive contests. So you’ll spot plenty of beer in there too, purely for 'contest research' for the Hive beer community, of course!

Then there are the screenshots of daft memes I send to friends. Quite a lot of them are about Donald Trump, because there seems to be an endless supply of material and some of it is too funny not to share. I do hate Trump with a passion, though.

There's one thing I don't have, and that's many photos of people. Life is peopley enough without them cluttering up my phone. I definitely have more photos of my friends' pets than I have of my friends, including one of my friend's cats, who I sometimes edit. She always sits on the roof as if she's keeping watch over the whole neighbourhood. This time, I added an FBI jacket to complete the look! She's definitely in charge.

I have plenty of practical photos too, such as the right engine oil for my car, because I can never remember which one I need.

Speaking of my car, I have a photo of the dint left on it when a young chap accidentally reversed into me. The photo was taken for the insurance claim, but my car is getting old, a bit like me, so in the end I didn't bother going through the insurance. His works vehicle was involved, so his boss sent him over with a bunch of flowers and £50 in an envelope to apologise. I just tell everyone the dent is from a toothless shark attack!

So that’s what my camera roll says about me. It’s not particularly glamorous or organised, but it’s full of things I like, things that make me laugh, and things I want to remember. I definitely prefer quiet walks and animals over peopley gatherings. It’s a bit of a mess, but it’s a fair reflection of me, easily amused, and always on the lookout for something odd, like a statue with a traffic cone on its head!
