I Stumbled Upon a Sea of Poppies on My Walk Today

My walk began beside a field full of bright red poppies moving gently in the breeze. The flowers stretched across the field, creating a lovely sea of red. It was a shame it was slightly dull.

The poppy field was a nice surprise, as they are not here every year. Field poppies are annual flowers that can self-seed, with seeds falling into the soil and growing when the conditions are right. This means the fields can look different each summer.

The footpath then led away from the poppy fields and towards a large barley field. The tall crops lined the path, gently swaying in the wind as I walked through. Barley fields and cornfields remind me of my childhood, as they were playgrounds for us.

As I continued along the path, I spotted a couple of horses in a nearby field. They came trotting over to the fence, watching people walking by. There was an electric fence near the stone wall and they stopped just before it. I could tell they knew what it was and didn't want to go near it.

It was a simple circular walk, but an interesting one. The changing fields and lovely views made it a nice way to spend time outside.

Yes, I know what you mean, they are hard to edit. Sometimes, the red is too vibrant. I do love a poppy field, though. 😊

It looks like a garden of flowers! I'm seeing poppies for the first time and it looks beautiful also because the weather is complimenting it.🏵️
