Hot Weather and Butterfly Watching
Another hot day as I took a walk down at the local nature reserve. There were hardly any people about, probably because of the heat, especially the dog walkers.
There were a few butterflies, but as usual it was difficult to get photos as they wouldn't stay still. It was far too hot to stand around for too long.
This was my favourite part of the walk as it was under the shade of the trees. As soon as you emerge from the trees the heat hits you.
The blackthorn bush had green berries on it which will change into blue - black sloe berries. People make sloe gin by putting frozen ripened berries into a jar and then pouring the gin into it, leaving it for 2-3 months. The gin will turn into a nice red colour.
At the end of my walk I found a painted pebble that someone had hidden up a tree. I have taken it down and will rehide it somewhere tomorrow.
Nature always brings peace and tranquility. Very beautiful photos of some of your finds in nature.
Regards :)
Thank you @nasseir. I just wish it would cool off a bit, but then we'd be complaining about that. 🙂
Indeed, hot weather is a bit difficult to find more great things. Insects hide a lot because of the hot weather.
I liked your first butterfly, with the dots. Cool about the painted pebble.
Thank you. You've just reminded me I need to rehide it. It's still in my pocket. 😁
