Fungi Friday: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

This past week I've found the good, the bad and the ugly as far as fungi are concerned. The first part of the week it resembled a fungi graveyard with lots of rotting fungi about. We had two days of rain but then for a short while it seemed that summer had returned. First the good ....

I wasn't expecting to see any more fly agerics but when I walked to higher ground I found a couple.

These looked brand spanking new.

Another shaggy inkcap. It's good that I've seen several this year. I had to sneak on to someone's property to take this photo.

I thought this was a bread cob when I first spotted it.

My favourites this week were the puffballs. They were past their best so no puff! More bad than good. They still looked pretty interesting, though.

And now the ugly. Walking through the wood it was quite dense here. The fungi were all rotting nicely on the trees. They were all over the place.

Every week I think this is going to be the last week I find any fungi, but the search goes on!
