Fungi Finding for Fun

A misty walk this morning yielded quite a few fungi for #fungifriday initiated by @ewkaw. They were mostly birch polypores and turkey tails, I think, though not sure about the others.

The misty air always brings out the best in the wood. There is lots of lovely green moss and brown leaves, and of course, fungi, some past their best. Most were attached to rotting trees or fallen branches, quietly decomposing. The wood smelled damp and earthy.

This is why I like to take my time walking through the wood, because it's surprising how much more you can see. Fungi appear and disappear very quickly, so I dont like to miss them.
