Finding Fungi While Walking Through the Forest on a Hot Day

Walking through one of my favourite forests I was pleasantly surprised to see quite a lot of fungi about. We've had little rain but quite a hot summer so I wasn't expecting to see so many. These are just a few of the fungi I have spotted during my walks this week.

I followed the footpath through the forest, which was behind a local campsite with lodges. Although there were lots of cars parked up at the entrance to my walk, I saw very few people.

Even though nothing unusual had come through it was good to see some fungi.

I like sunny days and the things that come with them, such as the bees, butterflies, and the greenery, but I also like the wet weather, the changing of the leaves, and of course the fungi when autumn comes.

Later in the year, I usually see a lot of fly agarics in this forest so hopefully we will have a good year when the damp weather comes.

This is my contribution to #fungifriday by @ewkaw.

Fungi is a rarity where I live. The drought is making it impossible to grow and you only find them during spring and autumn.

Seeing your photos was so refreshing, I imagined myself in a cool woods with a lot of green 😎

Thank you @erikah. I was really surprised as the ground is so dry at the moment. Roll on autumn.
