Embracing the Rain

After months of sunshine, we had a bit more rain today. Between the heavy showers, I went for my morning walk. It was still raining a little, but I thought I wouldn't shrink, so I did an hour's walk in a nearby park and around my village.

The pink dog rose flowers, with their pretty pink petals really stood out against the gloom.

After this morning's rain everything looked much greener.

There were lots of yellow meadow buttercups in the grassland behind the wooded area. They are taller than your average buttercup and are often found in fields. They tend to like damp areas so I'm sure they will be enjoying the rain.

The new picnic tables weren't being used today. The rain puts people off except for the dog walkers who don't have a choice.

Back in my village, you can tell we haven't had a lot of rain as Mr Swan was standing at the edge of the water. Normally, it would be deep enough to swim in.

Many years ago, someone's black pet rabbits escaped and were never recaptured. Since then, they have bred in the wild. I still see the occasional black rabbit in the area. I got this little one off the road and back to safety.

My last save of the day was getting a snail off the road. I know they say you shouldn't interfere with nature, but a car nearly squashed it, so I put it to safely in the hedge.
