Chasing the Sun ... but Getting Showers

I decided to go back to the spot where the sun was out yesterday to take a few more photos of the wildflowers on the roadside. Unfortunately, as always in the UK, where you can get four seasons in one day, it was overcast and raining.

The rain had brought out the colour of the shrubs, though, which was nice.

I did find a bit of colour with the bluebells, but they are beginning to wilt.

Thankfully, it was a well worn footpath. It is quite a popular area for dog walking. It was also good not to come across any mud for a change.

It’s funny how a bit of rain can change the mood of a walk. Even though the ground was damp, it added to the atmosphere. I’m glad I went back in the end, even though I didn't get much sun, it was still a nice walk, and over the horizon the sun did try to come out at one point. Unfortunately, it didn't try hard enough!

I love walking in all kinds of weather, the expression goes, “There is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing!”

Yes, I totally get that. Unless, it's torrential rain, I'm out in all weathers. 😃

Well, yes torrential downpours and soaking boots does make it much harder. Have had that. Will never forget Skomer island where we discovered a new kind of wet!

Oh my goodness, the colours. We don't quite get that shade of green here. I remember telling Dad, when I lived in the UK, how technicolor the green was.

It’s a relief to hear the footpath was well-worn and mud-free! There is nothing worse than a rainy walk that turns into a slippery mess. It sounds like you caught the bluebells just in time; even if they are beginning to wilt, they still provide such a lovely splash of color against the damp greenery.

Thank you. Hopefully, something will replace the bluebells. 🙂
