Bushcraft Dens: Skills in the Woods

We've finally had a bit of spring at last. I took a walk into a local wooded area. I've not been here for a while as the weather hasn't been good, but the sun was out today.

The first wood doesn't have much greenery on the ground but the different shades of brown looked nice. Since they've cut some diseased trees down I hear the birds more clearly.

There are a few more bushcraft dens that have appeared since I was last up here. One was actually in the hole that was left by a fallen tree. It's amazing how small the roots are for such a tall tree.

I crossed over the lane to the other wood. The first thing that struck me was how green the trees are looking now. It looks so much different with a bit of colour.

Even though it was sunny, it still looked a bit dull where the wood is more dense.

I found a painted pebble in my village, so I rehid it in the woods. The finder can either keep it or rehide it, but they should post in the local group on Facebook to say they've found it. It's always nice to find someone's artwork in a random place. It's surprising how far they travel.

Afterwards, I crossed back over the lane and did a small detour down the path at the side.
