Brrraving the Chilly Morning in the Forest

It was a bit cool this morning. It definitely has that autumnal feeling first thing. I think we are going to pay for our lovely summer. I am looking forward to misty mornings in the forest, though.

They have been chopping more trees down as part of the forest management. There are a few deep tyre marks from the diggers they've been using, so it can get quite muddy around this part.

On the road I live on, they had to pull a tree down as the roots had grown underneath the bungalow, creating a few issues inside the property. I now understand why, seeing this tree with such long roots.

Usually, the birds feed on this mossy stonewall. Passersby leave bird seed for them but it was all gone this morning.

There wasn't a lot of colour apart from the leaves of the rosebay willowherb that have changed from green to red to prepare themselves for the winter.

It was a bit gloomy in the forest, but the sun was breaking through when I made my way out.

That forest is calling my name. I envy you (I said this before), for those forest walks. We have bears running around freely here, so forest walks are out of the question.

Oh my word. I wasn't expecting you to say that. My blogging days would be over if I couldn’t go walking in the forests.

It's difficult, I can't even begin to tell you. Imagine I live in a city with 150k inhabitants and the bears are walking 1.5km from where I live, basically at the outskirts of the city. They collect them from time to time, remove them, but they come back. So walking in any woods is like in a horror movie, at your own risk, while your blood pressure is up to the roof.

I like bears but not that close. In fact, I don’t think I'd want to venture out!
