Another Warm Day in the Village
As I had my morning walk, I spotted this butterfly. My phone app was telling me this was a green veined white which is a fairly small, butterfly and quite common.
A pair of resident swans are incubating 7 eggs. The female swan was only off the nest a few minutes as it was quite warm today. Unfortunately, for the past 5 years their eggs haven't hatched. We've all got our fingers crossed that this is the year they do hatch.
There were two Canada geese grazing on the grass along the side of one of the village ponds. They seem to stay out of the water most of the day.
The horse chestnut tree at this time of year has pretty white and pink flowers.
Allium is a lovely bulbous flower with a very strong onion or garlic scent. It is strange how something so pretty can smell of onion.
The village pond was very calm this morning, with lovely reflections of the houses and trees in the water.
Before I went home, I checked in on our disabled mallard duck. He has a disabled leg. Nobody is sure how he became like this. He could have been born with it. He's absolutely fine though and copes very well. He was basking in the sun.
Whoa, your village is filled with just beautiful things. Must be awesome to see such view everyday during your walk ,,✨
Thank you. It is very pretty at this time of year.
