A Walk Around Holmebrook Country Park: Ducklings and Wild Fruit
It was nice to get out for a walk around Holmebrook Country Park today. The sun was out, but it felt slightly cooler than it has been recently. The best thing about the entire walk was spotting a female mallard resting on the dry, grassy bank with her family.

She was the proud mum of four cute ducklings tucked around her.
Dog walkers were being sensible and walking their pets under the shaded woodland paths.

As I walked along the path, it was good to see how much fruit was growing in the hedgerows and trees. Crisp, unripe green apples hanging from the branches, round green plums soaking up the sun, dark purple sloes beginning to ripen on the bushes.

Spiky green conkers developing on the horse chestnut trees, remind me that autumn is just around the corner. After the recent hot weather, I can't wait!

As I approached the lake, a gull was taking a moment to rest and preen its feathers on a wooden railing.

Down by the tall green reeds, two swans were busy cleaning themselves in the shallows, while a duck took a quiet nap on a nearby rock.

All in all, it was an interesting walk. Holmebrook Country Park is always a lovely place to visit, especially this time of year when there is so much nature and wildlife to spot.

It made me want to go for a swim in the lake, hehehe—nice outing
Thank you. I can't say the same because I can't swim. 😆
