A Walk along the old Railway Line

For my #wednesdaywalk initiated by @tattoodjay I went for a walk on an old railway line that has been restored into a walking and cycling route. The footpath down to the tunnel looked really pretty with the wildflowers.

This photo was taken in 2022 when the old railway tunnel was overrun by weeds and litter.

Today, thanks to volunteers and a lot of hard work, the place has been totally transformed. My favourite part of the project is the metal silhouette of a steam train's front end, which looks like it is just coming out of the tunnel.

As you walk along the old railway, you pass under bridges and through 'cuttings' that are locally known as the 'canyons'. You will be able to see lots of wild flowers and birds.

The walk is mainly flat, so it is accessible to everyone. You can also access the path at different areas and walk as far as you want. I just walked for an hour and then double backed.

Wow, your photos are really beautiful! 😍 May I ask what camera you're using? The colors and details are so nice!

Thank you. These were taken by my Samsung mobile phone. I like to travel light when I'm walking. I use the Snapseed photo editor to make the photos pop a bit.
