A Visit to Beautiful Bakewell, Derbyshire, UK
We called in at Bakewell, well known for its Bakewell pudding. The town has shops, good cafes and is close to the countryside, so there's plenty of walking and cycling opportunities in the area, plus other local attractions. Monday is market day, with lots of stalls to whet your appetite for spending.
Bakewell sits on the River Wye in Derbyshire, and attracts tourists from home and overseas. One of the town's bridges dates back to the 14th century, and is a Grade I listed stone arch bridge.
There is another bridge, commonly known as the 'Love Lock Bridge'. The bridge has become a tourist attraction, with visitors either enjoying reading the inscriptions on the locks, or placing their own locks on the bridge.
There was talk of the locks being taken off but they're still there. People either love them or hate them, but I really like them and I hope they remain.
The trout and bird life get fed by the numerous visitors. They will all come to the side if there's food about.
After doing a bit of shopping and seeing the sights, we finished the day with a nice cup of coffee!

The Love's Lock Bridge is kind of awesome thing to visit there. Of course, I should bring my partner to our Love Lock then. Hihi. Thanks for the virtual tour.🥰
Thank you. There might be a love lock bridge near you. They are quite common. ❤️
I still don't know that yet. But, I will search of there is one near ours. :-) GOOD READ!
Thank you.
Wow, so beautiful pics! 🤗❤
Thank you @milagroscdlrr.
I've been to many romantic places and romantic cities but I've never seen all those padlocks
They are quite common, and they do put a lot of weight on bridges if there are too many. Still love them though.
Lovely 😍
Thank you!
