A Sunny Morning Stroll Around the Dam
Walking around the dam in my local town is always a pleasant experience. The area is quite popular, and you must share the footpath with fellow walkers, dog owners, and cyclists. Everyone is friendly, and other walkers often share what birds they have seen, which is nice.
As you stroll around, you can see many interesting plants. One type of plant that stands out is the garlic plant. Even though the white flowers of the plant are out, there's still only a slight smell of garlic at the moment. It will be a lot stronger in the next few weeks.
The water in the dam reflects the sky and surrounding trees, creating a calming effect on a lovely sunny day. This reflection adds to the beauty of the walk.
The swamp azalea is a shrub that is known for its fragrant and pretty flowers. It naturally grows in wet areas like woods, swamps, and at the side of lakes.
Crabapple trees have lovely flowers on them which can range from white to shades of pink. They are very fragrant and attract pollinators like bees.
Normally, there are many people with their dogs in the park, but today it is quite deserted. It might have been too early for them.
In spring, bluebells bloom in most of the woods and forests, adding colour to the scenery. The shadows of trees provide cool spots to rest and enjoy the view.
Overall, walking around the dam is a great way to connect with nature and appreciate the simple beauty of plants and water.
