A Singing Robin, a Curious Gull at the Country Park

It was another overcast morning, but at least it wasn't raining ... for now. I can't remember the last time it didn’t rain. I decided to have a walk around Holmebrook Country Park. I knew some of the footpath was going to be muddy, but I just had to get on with it.

The flock of gulls that is usually here was mostly standing, chilled, on the wooden fence around the lake. Sometimes, they'd all fly off if they saw someone throwing food onto the water.

One of the gulls seemed to be interested in the coot nearby. It jumped off the wooden fence to be nearer to the coot. The coot wasn't so friendly and chased it off. The gull returned to its perch.

The platforms the anglers fish from were mostly underwater due to all the rain.

There were plenty of robins sat on park benches or in the trees. This one was warbling away to other birds.
