A Hot Summer Stroll around the Neighbouring Village

It was a scorcher today as I had a walk around a neighbouring village. I started at the church gates with the lovely pink roses.

Wood pigeons seem to like graveyards for some reason. I see quite a lot here.

I went down a very narrow footpath at the side of the field. I found some large fungi growing on the tree trunk. The footpath took me back on to the road.

I then followed the footpath sign next to a row of houses. It did feel as though you were encroaching on someone's property but it definitely is a public footpath.

Once through the wooden gate I entered the field where the sheep were sheltering from the sun.

I know goats like to climb but I've never seen a sheep on top of a stone wall.

Driving home I called in to have a walk around the top field where I found a wasp's nest. I didn't get too close for obvious reasons.

The horses in the adjacent field seemed to be enjoying the sun.

I spotted a comma butterfly but it wouldn’t open its wings completely. It was at this point I felt too hot so I called it a day.
