Ladies Night! 🎄😁………My Actifit Report Card: December 6 2025

Last night I attended the Valley Girl Christmas gathering at my church. This is an annual event, however my first time attending. I originally was going to meet a gal there, but she ended up not attending, so I was going to an event I’d not gone to with no one I knew to sit with. Definitely not my comfort zone! However, upon entering the church, Angie who I know but don’t know well was welcoming the ladies as we arrived. She told me to go sit at her table.

Angie is not in this picture however, I knew of 2 of them as I’d seen them around at service, but not been introduced to them, and the other three I’d not met before. Nonetheless, they welcomed me and by the end, I knew their names.

The lady in the first picture is the wife of our pastor-Rachel. She said that there was plenty of food but each table would be dismissed by whoever answered trivia questions first and correctly. Her first question was who announced to Mary that she would give birth to Jesus. I jumped up, apparently first and Rachel pointed to me to answer. I responded ‘Gabriel’ which was correct, so our table was first to go through the food line! The ladies at our table were happy, indeed!

Jocelyn, who is married to the youth pastor, has an unknown talent! She plays the harp! Not a little thing, but a full size floor version!

It came time to do a craft. At each place setting was a small cellophane bag containing items to make a fragrant Christmas ornament.

What was supposed to be a simple project ended up taking nearly a half hour for everyone to finish as the twine just would not go through the wooden beads, lol! Everyone was struggling! I mentioned to Angie that I bet I knew what craft would not be done next year! Here’s the finished product on my tree.

Another highlight of the evening was the ugly Christmas sweater competition. They weren’t all ugly and it was hilarious watching the ladies model their sweaters!

Our table also won the prize for table trivia later in the evening which the prize was a poinsettia! I’d been wanting one but had yet to purchase one. Now, I don’t have to! 😁

I really enjoyed the evening despite my misgivings about going alone. I’m looking forward to next year’s Valley Girl Christmas!

Oh-by the way, it is St. Nicholas Day, so if you’ve been good, you might check your stocking to see if he left you anything! 🎅
