La ciudad de Juan Griego, mejor conocida como la ciudad crepuscular, durante años ha sido considerada la parada a donde todos quieren llegar para ver el mejor atardecer aquí en la isla de Margarita, el fortín de la galera siempre es escenario para ver la puesta del sol más impresionante de este terruño insular.
The city of Juan Griego, better known as the twilight city, has for years been considered the stop where everyone wants to go to see the best sunset here on Margarita Island. The galera fort is always the setting for seeing the most impressive sunset of this island land.
Desde este fortín se observa la ciudad por completo, el mar con los barcos en orilla de la playa. Este pueblo también conocido como una zona pesquera y parte de la población vive del comercio de la pesca. Es un lugar ideal donde los turistas, no solo vienen a ver la puesta del Sol, también lo visitan para hacer sus compras en la diferentes tiendas ubicadas en la ciudad ya que es un ciudad comercial.
From this fort, you can see the entire city, the sea with the boats on the shore. This town is also known as a fishing area, and part of the population makes a living from the fishing trade. It's an ideal place where tourists not only come to see the sunset, but also to shop in the various stores located in the city, since it is a commercial city.
Al llegar al fortín de la Galera, en ocasiones nos encontramos a unos niños que quieren contarte la historia y es ahí donde se conoce un poco más sobre la historia de este hermoso lugar. Dicen que su nombre proviene de un barco del mismo nombre, "Galera" qué varo en la zona.
Upon arriving at the Galera fort, we sometimes meet children who want to tell us the story, and that's where we learn a little more about the history of this beautiful place. They say its name comes from a ship of the same name, "Galera," which ran aground in the area.
Este fortín ganó gran importancia desde la lucha de la independencia de Venezuela, tambien se dice que las tropas patriotas lanzaban rocas muy grandes desde la cima del fortín para defenderse de quienes lo atacaban.
This fort gained great importance since the fight for Venezuela's independence. It is also said that patriotic troops threw very large rocks from the top of the fort to defend themselves from those who attacked it.
Hoy en día, el Fortín de la Galera es un punto turístico popular, conocido por sus vistas panorámicas y sus espectáculares atardeceres, desde donde se ve el colorido atardecer, ese Sol ocultandose detrás de los cerros y desde ahí reflejandose los rayos del Sol en el inmenso mar.
Today, Fortín de la Galera is a popular tourist spot, known for its panoramic views and spectacular sunsets, from where you can see the colorful sunset, the sun setting behind the hills and from there the sun's rays reflecting on the immense sea.
Es un gusto para mi compartirles unos de los lugares más importantes y con una historia increíble de aquí de la Isla de Margarita-Venezuela, que por algo es conocida como la Isla de las perlas y esta, una cuidada crepuscular.
