Visiting the Egyptian Museum in Cairo
Hey everyone, at the beginning I would like to welcome every reader to my contribution and hope you have a great day so far which is full of interesting experiences! Cairo offers numerous important sights for which it's definitely worth planning a few days and one of the highlights are clear museums.

As always when I was in other countries I visited a national museum especially often which usually expresses the traditional culture best and also in Egypt, I did not wanted to miss this experience. There is also another museum with which it's sometimes confused which is called National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and I also visited this one, but this article should not be about that and I would like to save it for the future to share more about this experience. To get to the museum I first had to get to the center of the city which was the advantage for me because I only needed a few minutes on foot and the exact place is also called Tahir place which is the busiest district of the city where there is a lot going on until late at night but here it can generally be said that the city never sleeps. The Egyptian Museum is not only known in the own country but has achieved great popularity worldwide and this is no wonder due to the numerous unique works of art that can be found here and probably it's also one of the largest collections of Egyptian art that can be seen here.
The special building was built by a French architect who also bears the name Marcel Dourgnon and it was about creating a kind of storage place for the rare pieces of the country and after a few years of construction it was completed at the beginning of the 20th century. It's difficult to stay on a uniform denominator with all the pieces and roughly it can be said that works from all important eras of the country can be found here and this already begins with the time before the important dynasties of Egypt. Because of the enormous size, I would recommend everyone to make a longer trip out of it, but it's also possible to see the most important in about four hours, but also a longer visit can be made out of it and with over a hundred thousand exhibits there is something for everyone.
Some things are really unique like the mask of Tutankamun but there were many works of art here which have been sent to other places because of the high degree of rarity and it is important to mention that there are changing exhibitions from time to time. Those who are in the area also have opportunities to combine the excursion with a visit to the square or the banks of the Nile and if you want to see more, you can reach some important sights from there also on foot. From me goes an absolute recommendation to this museum and as mentioned it can be worthwhile to combine the visit with other things but it is absolutely necessary to plan enough time to see everything.

Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new and like my post and appreciate my effort! I captured these pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm and iPhone 16.

I love that it has so many incredible pieces like Tutankhamun’s mask. Definitely good advice to spend plenty of time there and maybe visit other nearby attractions too.
Such an amazing place! If I were to visit I could spend all day there. What a great post and I'm so jealous that you had the chance to visit and see all those cool artifacts! It really looks like you made the most of that trip, well done!
Thank you so much for the friendly words:)
