Visiting Little Arab in Singapore

Hey dear community, first of all I would like to wish you all a pleasant weekend and hope you are all doing well! In my new post I would like to share something about my time in Singapore and it motivates me to read feedback.

One thing that characterises Singapore in every respect is the ethnic diversity and so there is a little India, Arab as well as a Chinatown and it's an absolute must for every visitor to get to know the different cultures better. Since I was in Chinatown and Little India the day before, I decided to plan a own day and so I got up early and skipped breakfast until I was in Arab Street and the first thing I did was to look for a small restaurant to eat felafel and enjoy tea. I caught a good restaurant in which the owner always refilled me fresh tea as I have also experienced in countries like Egypt and here I made a perfect choice because some restaurants seemed very touristy on me but the flair was authentic everywhere in the street. When it comes to restaurants, there were generally many Turkish restaurants to see, but other countries were also represented here and it is quite classic here to find one or the other coffee or boutiques that give an authentic flair of the Middle East.

Also the buildings were colored appropriately and when I was once in Turkey in the past, I saw similar colors at the houses in a coastal area which is why I around the thumb I would describe Little Arab authentic but as already mentioned also touristy and partly very busy. Coming here in the morning hours was anyway a very good decision because there was less going on and the most famous sight here is clearly the historic Sultan Mosque which was already built during the 19th century. Admission to the mosque was free, but there is not much to see and if you want to learn more about it, I only recommend joining a guided tour that takes place regularly and tells visitors everything important about the bulding.

As mentioned, the Arab Street is also quite well known in which traditional shops can be found who offer different things and a lot was also handmade here and in addition to the well-known streets, I also walked into smaller side streets in which wall paintings could be seen. Another well-known street in the area is called Haji Lane and here I could also find one or the other wall painting, but I really looked at everything and did not shy away from the side streets and with breakfast, I spent about two to three hours here which was perfect to see the most important things. There was also a cultural centre nearby that I wanted to visit, but I was unlucky and there was renovation work here, which was also an end of the world, but if someone should come here, don't miss a look here and the name is Malay Heritage Centre. I can only recommend every visitor from Singapore to immerse yourself in this cultural diversity, which is why a visit to Little Arab should not be missed, but I would not do every three quarters in one day because there is already a lot of information, but a must to come here one day.
