Visiting Buckingham Palace in London

Hello everyone, at the beginning I would like to welcome you to my new post and hope you had an exciting day so far which was perhaps even full of new experiences! Today I would like to talk about my trip in London and I am happy if you can learn new things.

On my first day when I was in the city I decided to visit the famous Buckingham Palace which is probably one of the most popular landmarks of the country and is considered an important seat of the royal family. I have already booked the visit to the palace online, which I can only recommend to everyone to avoid the rush of visitors and here you can simply choose a desired period of the visit and pay immediately. For me, the case was that I was on site earlier than planned, which is why I decided to change the slot, which turned out to be completely unproblematic and only requires a short visit to the counter, but I must mention that I have booked on the official page and people who have booked their tickets through a service provider probably have problems. Inside the palace there was really a lot to see and right at the beginning there is the possibility to get an audio guide which is of course included in the price and here it can be worthwhile to take one in any case because there is little text.

The guides are relatively simple and have guided me through the rooms and it is a tour in which everything about the history up to today’s use is taught and the visit lasted about an hour and a half. Unlike other places, photography is unfortunately not allowed inside the palace, which is why I can only share photos from the outside as well as other areas where this was possible again and there are also two other museums such as the one of the royal horses and a gallery where my pictures were taken. I can recommend every visitor to look at everything right away and in the best case to purchase the combined ticket in which all three sights are included and who buys the normal ticket must expect a price of 30£ while everything together costs another twenty more.

Afterwards I wanted to visit the garden which, however, was not so great on the rather rainy day on which I was there, but on a sunny one is extremely inviting and at the so-called exhibition royal mews there is everything to learn about the royal horses and their stables. The gallery is a royal gallery where numerous objects can be found and here there is a permanent as well as changing exhibition, but I don’t think the gallery is open all year round and in winter it should be closed and this also refers to the visit to the horses. The palace itself is still in royal possession, which is why only a part is accessible to the general public and at the beginning, it was not even a palace and was built as a simple building of the city which has been converted during the 19th century into a official palace. The first ruler who inhabited the palace was Queen Victoria and since then it has been considered a royal resistance which is visited every year by thousands of visitors and everyone who should be in the city should not miss the opportunity to visit this unique place.

There was a chapter in our books at school about this infamous Buckingham palace! Forgot every details we learned from those chapter already! It's good to have some fresh information about it!

I like this view very much

Sounds like a great visit. I like that booking tickets online is easy and the audio guide helps you understand the history. It’s good to know about the no photo rule inside too. I would love to see the Royal Mews and gallery as well.
