You can see here heads that have been made of terracotta and these are probably theatre players as can be recognized by the abstract masks and these masks are supposed to bring out emotions well through the shapes such as the wide mouth and depending on the type of masks, they were used in tragic or humorous pieces. It was typical that the theatre players wore masks to integrate better into their roles and it is suspected that the masks were originally used for ritual purposes and many of the masks were specially used to worship gods and these ritual events are also merged with the theatre where gods or other mythological events were often expressed. Greece is also considered one of the origins of theatre culture and various art styles such as music, poetry, dance and others have been combined and in order to spread this form of entertainment more, theatres were built in numerous places of which some traces exist to this day and these were often also used for other festivities or ritual purposes. It is believed that the first plays took place in honor of the god of the wine Dionysus and the theatres mostly took place outdoors and there were different rooms where the players could prepare, game rooms which were mostly used by the choir as well as a dance floor and the 5th century BC was the golden age of the theatre in ancient Greece and after this time the end of this era began. The theatres were built very intelligent and the people could hear well even in the back rows when the actors spoke in front and the Greeks also had numerous technologies to provide the necessary special effects and the predominantly male actors worked were abundantly decorated with clothes and took over more rolls. Many characteristics from ancient Greece are still widely spread in the theatre to this day and have also influenced other past cultures and there are numerous examples of masks from the Middle Ages that had Greek characteristics and also typical masks that were worn at carnival often have Greek features and to this day, many people are looking back on ancient Greece in the theatre scene.
