Here you can see an impressive oil painting by the artist Eduard Schleich the Elder (1812 - 1874) which presents a landscape and I find the artwork looks extremely authentic and was painted with a great attention to detail. I particularly like the depth effect that Schleich has created and also the choice of the right color is just perfect and it creates a lively and a great overall impression and you can definitely recognise the passion of the artist. In addition to the depth, I particularly like light effects that he managed to create with the right stylistic devices and also the small details such as the two lonely people who look into the landscape he has highlighted extremely authentically and if you look more closely you can even see a reflection of the light in the water in the distance. He himself was born in 1812 as the son of a baron and rather turned away from the ideals of his family and early on he developed a passion for art and presented the first works and decided to visit the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, but his art was not really recognised at the beginning and he received numerous negative criticism. He later acquired most of the knowledge about art himself and developed his own painting style and oriented himself according to examples of the Dutch school and also numerous German artists had a huge influence on him and he focused on landscape painting. He himself also moved a lot in artistic circles and the well-known painter Carl Spitzweg (1808 - 1885) was considered one of his best friends and of course both shared the same passion and his reputation as an artist increased more and more and he visited many exhibitions in other countries and to collect inspiration he liked to go into nature himself. Due to his popularity, he increasingly set an example for other artists and he was also seen as inspiration for other artists and was even appointed as a professor at an art academy and to this day he is considered one of the most important painters of his time.
