The Mythology of Salvia

Sage can be seen here which is also scientifically called Salvia and originally comes from the Mediterranean region. Historically, sage is already strongly anchored and already occurs in many ancient cultures and the oldest traditions are already several thousand years old. Already in ancient Egypt, sage was used in many ways against various diseases and it is generally one of the oldest medicinal plants in history, which has been mentioned by many scholars such as Pliny the elder. Even in the Middle Ages, sage was of great importance and was already cultivated by Charlemagne and has reached a high priority and by the ancient Greeks it was considered a divine plant and this faith was also public in the Middle Ages and also for ritual purposes sage was often used by shamans and associated with protection and positive energy. The ancient Celts also used sage and was considered one of the most powerful medicinal plants and was also revered as a magical plant and was considered an oracle plant and another important aspect is the ecological benefits as it can can be a great source of food for insects. From a medical point of view, the oil is of particular interest, which is full of positive properties and can be used for various medical or cosmetic purposes. The field of application is very diverse and in the 20th Century, sage was used more and more because of its antibiotic properties but as always, in case of illness, you should always ask your doctor or pharmacist about the correct use as well as possible side effects!
