Here you can see some pictures of spruce which is also known under the scientific name Picea and has been anchored since ancient times and the ancient Germanic people regarded it as a magical tree which was under special protection and it was one of the most important trees there and was associated with life as well as fertility. It was suspected that it could have supernatural abilities and was closely linked to humans and in order to make more use of the effect, the cones were harvested and then stored because it was suspected that it could protect against negative influences and were generally also considered as a medium between different worlds and also with the old Celts, there were similar opinions. It also had a high significance in Greek mythology where it was associated with the goddess of hunting Artemis and there are also connections to the god of the seas Poseidon since the wood of the spruce has often been used for the construction of ships and in addition it was considered a sacred tree of the god of the forests as well as shepherds Pan and he was also sometimes depicted with wreaths of spruce branches. The spruce also appears in a legend that is associated with the Sinnis who is said to have attacked people on the side of the way by hanging them on spurce trees to kill them in this way and this spook was finished by the hero Theseus who managed to defeat Sinnis. In another legend there is talk of a nymph that was once transformed into a spruce and the wood was also often used to create wreaths from it, which have often been handed over to winners of competitions and as mentioned above, the wood was also used to build ships or other things. Spruces also had an important meaning among the Romans and in the Middle Ages they were an important supplier of wood and there were large forests of it and from a symbolic point of view as a well-known sign of strength and also the healing effect was often in focus. As always, I would like to mention here that in the event of illness, you should always ask your doctor or pharmacist of trust about the correct use as well as possible side effects in order to avoid complications!
