Rosarium Philosophorum in Alchemy
Hey dear Community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you had a great start to the new week! In this post, I would like to talk a little about alchemy and hope you are able to expand your knowledge about this mystical topic.
In old alchemical works there is often talk of a mystical rose garden, which is also known as Rosarium Philosophorum and describes a work of 20 different illustrations which are instructions for creating the Philosopher's stone or the great work of the alchemists. These illustrations also describe the spiritual development or the awakening of the higher self and when it comes to inner alchemy, it is probably one of the most formative works which uses different mystical metaphors to describe the path to wisdom. It is believed that it was created in the Middle Ages during the 13th century and the author is also considered to be the Spanish scholar and doctor Arnaldus de Villanova (1235 - 1311), who was also known as the doctor of the King of Aragon and he dealt a lot with chemical reactions and other alchemical topics and was strongly influenced by Arab alchemists, which can also be found in this work. During the 16th century, Rosarium Philosophorum became more and more popular and was translated into more and more languages over the centuries and became an important base for numerous alchemists. This work also strongly influenced the teachings of the Rosicrucians and you can find references to various Arabic alchemists such as Geber or Calidus as well as instructions which describes in ten steps how to create the philosopher's stone and the works are full of symbolism or encrypted messages and once you understand the exact meaning, it is similar to other alchemical writings that it is a metaphor for different stages of transformation.
Many thanks for stopping and I hope you could learn something new about alchemy! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens.

Bad news: Saying see you later to Hive! 👋
We didn't get the needed support to continue cXc.world on Hive, as our DHF proposal lacked votes, but [Good News Everyone] cXc.world will add a Markdown copy button, allowing you to easily share your music + music you find on Hive.
For now, we're on WAX, with tools you can use to mint your own Music/Media NFT collection.
