Monomad - Runes
Hello dear Hive friends, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you are well! I would like to participate in the new round of the #monomad challenge today and made some black and white pictures of a very interesting topic and maybe one or the other reader can even learn something new!
To see is a topic that is already very old and mythologically deeply rooted, the characters of the old Germanics or runes. There are a total of 24 different runes in the alphabet which are also called old Futhark and have been researched relatively well scientifically. It is important to mention that some runes unfortunately have a bad reputation for some people, as they were abused in earlier times of National Socialism, here it is definitely important to say that this sad time has nothing to do with the origins of the old Germanic runes, which are already thousands of years old, at that time of National Socialism, this old knowledge was abused.
Runes are also considered magical signs which are full of mythology, mysticism as well as symbolism and each rune has its own meaning, which is also often mythologically related to old gods. I bought these runes as a set and the unique thing is that they are printed on amethyst, which I think is a great idea and a small gift that I made myself.
I have been informing myself for a longer time about the different runes and their meanings and I keep also a small rune diary and draw a rune randomly every day and look for the meaning and write it down, so I learn the runes better and in addition, I read an interesting book about it in the past. It is best to draw the runes in nature to unfold the full magic and there are more possibilities, for example, you can also draw a sequence of more runes and put the meanings together.
Mythologically, I find the whole thing very interesting and there is so much to write about this topic, but I can't go into each rune individually. The Rune Ansuz, for example, is connected to the god Odin and is also considered a rune of wisdom and the thurisaz is connected to the god of the weather, thor. If you are generally interested in ancient Germanic mythology, you will definitely not get around the topic of runes and it is an important part of it, just like symbolism.
Runes are also much associated with magic and spirituality and go hand in hand with the primal powers of humanity, it is also very well known to perform spells and can be used in many ways. From a spiritual view, runes are an important energy provider and can also be used for healing purposes or for protection.
In the end of my post, I would like to thank you and I hope you like and appreciate my new post! I used my camera Sony Alpha 6000 and Sony SEL-55210 Telephoto Zoom Lens (55-210mm) to take these pictures.
