Monomad - Old Wheel
Good day dear Hive Community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you had a day full of positive experiences! In this post, I would like to present pictures in black and white for the #monomad challenge and hope you like them.
Recently I had the opportunity to photograph this wooden wheel and wheels often appear in symbolism and I would like to go into this in addition. It is a symbol with many meanings and is often associated with change or dynamics as well as the divine and in Buddhism it is often associated with the dharma wheel which is associated with knowledge. It is already a very old symbol and is also often linked to the mills and it is also often associated with opposites such as happiness or unhappiness, success and defeat or Ying and Yang. It is also of great importance in the mythology of different cultures and in Greek mythology it is often associated with the goddess of magic Hecate and her wheel was also known as Stropholos and was also considered a symbol of the moon. In pretty much every mythology, wheels appear as the basis of vehicles of the gods as well as in the Norse mythological Thor who drove through the sky with his chariot, the goddess of fertility Freya who was pulled by cats as well as the chariot of Helios. The old alchemists also use the wheel as a symbol and one of the meanings here was the connection with the inner itself and also in heraldry it can often be found in different coats of arms and those were just a few opinions that are related to wheels and there are much more.
Thanks a lot for stopping by and I hope you can learn something new and like my entry! I used my iPhone 12 to take these pictures.
