Monomad - Fomes fomentarius

Hey dear Hiveans, first of all I hope you are all well and have a great time! I would like to participate in the new round of the #monomad challenge and have some interesting black and white pictures of a mushroom which I would like to present today.

The mushroom that can be seen here is a tree mushroom that I found in the forest and I thought it would certainly look good as black and white photography. The common name of this piece of nature is Hoof fungus and scientifically Fomes fomentarius and in the past I have already presented this mushroom with all the important details and if you want to learn more about it, you are welcome to stop by here.

In some of the pictures, moss even grows on the mushrooms, which also looks interesting and definitely gives the pictures a real natural flair, I think. Also mythologically I was able to find out a few things about this mushroom, it was already highly appreciated by old Nordic cultures and used as a medicinal mushroom or to ignite fire, more about the use as a vital mushroom can also be found in the post linked above.

Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you like my entry! I used my camera Sony Alpha 6000 and Sony SEL-55210 Telephoto Zoom Lens (55-210mm) to take these pictures.

I love your combination of black and white and color pictures right from the start, because when we see a picture in color after seeing it in black and white, it looks completely new.

Thanks for your feedback, I also think it is always important to attach the original image in addition to generate these transitions. Well said and I am grateful to read your comment :) Have a nice day, stay well! @tornad

This is really interesting, I first though these are old shoes stuck in the mud.

You're right, the moss gives it that natural detail as the mushroom looks quite large.

I've seen a mushroom like this but I didn't see it, it had a slightly green color and of course the mushroom was almost dead.
