You can see here the mineral obsidian as well as solid silver which plays an important historical role in Mexico and obsidian has already been used by indigenous peoples such as the Aztecs or the Maya to produce mirrors, knives, spearheads and other utensils that were important for everyday life. Some minerals were used by indigenous people for ritual purposes and had a strong symbolic or mythological background and Mexico is considered one of the most important countries when it comes to the mining of various minerals and especially the mining of metals such as gold, silver or copper has been operated there for centuries and even before that, old advanced cultures were engaged in the mining of precious metals. Through the Spanish conquest in the 16th century, more and more mines were built for the commercial mining of minerals and especially silver was mined there in large quantities and helped Spain to great wealth and over the centuries several thousand silver areas were discovered there and already before the beginning of the industrial age, many mines were built and it developed into a large market. It also happened that some coin production facilities were built and a large part of the silver was processed directly in Mexico and it developed into a market in which thousands of people were involved and at times a real rush for metals broke out there. With industrialization, mining was promoted even more and Mexico developed into a well-known place for mining, which also attracted numerous investors from other countries and numerous companies were built there that had concerted on the mining or trade of minerals and especially silver is considered the most common ore in Mexico and the mining at times even led to that a large part of the total silver in the world came from Mexico.

The development of mining also ensured that the entire infrastructure in some parts of Mexico were created and numerous rails, railways, houses, as well as other other things that were important for mining or transport were built and some areas lived exclusively from it. To this day, Mexico is considered one of the best-known countries when it comes to mining and this also attracted numerous mineralogists as well as researchers who had focused on the discovery of new specimens and it is also considered a place of discovery of many new minerals. From an economic point of view, the export of minerals is one of the most important sources for infrastructure of Mexico and a large part of the mining companies that are based there today come from Canada and hundreds of thousands of people work in the field of mining and even when it comes to the mining of rare earths, Mexico plays an important role. It is definitely important to mention that it is often a controversial topic and already during the Spanish conquest there were numerous riots of the natives against the mining of resources and when it comes to the conditions of the miners, there were many riots or disasters in the past and even if there were some changes to improve the conditions of the workers as well as changes in the safety precautions, to this day there are still many problems that are often addressed too little.
