Millerite Mineral
Good day dear Hive Community, first of all I hope that you are all doing well so far and have a pleasant day! In this post, I would like to bring a mineral a little closer and hope you can expand your knowledge a little.
You can see here a specimen of Millerite which belongs to the mineral class of sulfides and was first described by the well-known mineralogist Wilhelm Ritter von Haidinger (1795 - 1871) who honored the mineral to the British physicist and mineralogist William Hallowes Miller (1801 - 1880) who is known for having made a great milestone in modern crystallography. The color can vary and can be brown, black but also sometimes colorful and the crystals have a shape that reminds something of thin hairs as well as fibrous and you should not forget that it is easily fragile when you handle the mineral. The mineral can be found almost everywhere in the world and among the best-known places of discovery are England, Norway, Africa, USA, Russia or France and it is also interesting that it can be found on meteorites. The formation can traced back to magmatic origin or as a weathering product in nickel-containing deposits and today about 700 different locations have been documented. Although it can be found worldwide, it is rather rarer mineral and is therefore not often used from an industrial point of view, but from time to time it is used as ore due to the high content of nickel and is of course of great interest to mineral collectors. Millerite is also of great importance as a symbolic point of view and is often seen as a sign of happiness or prosperity and it is also sometimes used as a healing stone and can help to improve emotional well-being and activate the psychic abilities or the third eye from a spiritual point of view. As always, it should be noted here that this is an alternative medicine and you should always ask your doctor or pharmacist about the right medicine in case of illness!
Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about minerals! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens!
It is found in the time of weathering, so Is it was created by the weathering process.
By influences of it :)

On top of this stone we see that some of the white color things are looking very beautiful and that is the most special thing about it.
Good eye for detail and I’m glad you’re interested in minerals!
