Interesting facts about Rhubarb
Good day dear community, I hope you are all doing well and you had a day full of interesting experiences! In this post, I would like to talk about nature and hope you are able to expand your knowledge a little.
Here you can see some pictures of rhubarb which is also known under the scientific name Rheum and has the origin in the Middle East and it is assumed that it comes from China or Tibet, but the exact country of origin is unknown. Rhubarb has been used for thousands of years as a medicine and there are even views in Persian mythology that once the first humans Mashja and Mashyanag are said to have emerged from this plant and in Europe it was first introduced during the 18th century and from England, the rhubarb also reached other countries. There are also assumptions that it was first grown in the Netherlands or France and in Arabia it was already found much earlier and reached this area through trade with Asian countries and there they quickly noticed the medical potential and nowadays it is very much appreciated because of these properties and as always I would like to mention here that in case of illness you should always ask your doctor or pharmacist of trust for the right dosage as well as possible side effects to avoid complications! One of the advantages of rhubar is the rapid growth as well as the simplicity in care and a location in the sun or semi-shade should be chosen for cultivation and a healthy average is probably the best decision because too much sun as well as too little can have a negative effect on growth. The soil should in any case be rich in nutrients and even if the ecological benefit is not quite as high as with other plants, you can sometimes find caterpillars on the leaves and also the flowers that show up from June will sometimes be visited by insects.
Thank you for the visit and I hope you could learn something new about nature! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens.
