Interesting facts about Bees
Hey dear community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new contribution and hope you have a day that has brought some interesting experiences into your life! In this article I would like to go into nature and hope you are able to expand your knowledge.
Here you can see some pictures of bees which are one of the most important insects and have the task of pollinating plants and without bees, the natural cycle would probably no longer work and they are of great importance for the entire ecosystem. Also in agriculture, bees are important for pollination and most crops are pollinated by bees and without this work people would have great problems when growing fruit or other important foods and of course bees are also enormously important for the production of honey. The importance of bees was already recognized by people in ancient cultures and in ancient Greece, the breeding of bees was particularly advanced and especially in rural areas many bee colonies were bred which were responsible for the production of honey and in ancient times, the insect was often associated with the divine and the honey was also considered the food of the gods in Olympus and so it was already Zeus who was fed with honey as a child and had also the nickname Bee King. In ancient times, bees were often regarded as a mystical animals as well as bearers of secret knowledge and whoever consumed the honey, should receive wisdom and also in Norse mythology you can find traces of this where the father of the gods Odin had received his wisdom through honey and also in ancient Egypt there is a similar belief and it was also said that honey could be granted immortality. In ancient cultures, honey wine was also produced, which has been revered as one of the valuable drinks and has been used especially for ritual occasions and according to some legends, the consumption of this drink could give mystical powers and also in the Middle Ages, it was one of the popular drinks and already the well-known ruler Charlemagne from the Carolingian dynasty offered his visitors honey met. Honey was also attributed healing powers and to this day it is appreciated for this and nowadays bees are unfortunately strongly threatened with extinction and especially the stock of wild bees is shrinking more and more and depending on the location it is suspected that every tenth wild bee is threatened with extinction which can be attributed to the change of agricultural areas or the use of more pesticides and areas are often overfertilized. Anyone who has the opportunity to support bees should do so and you can make a huge contribution by planting bee-friendly seeds to offer insects a source of food and anyone who has a garden or other areas available should make them insect-friendly.
