Flamingo lily (Anthurium)
Dear Hive Community, first of all I would like to welcome you to my contribution and hope you had a day full of positive experiences! Today I would like to bring you a little closer and hope you can learn something new.
You can see here the Flamingo lily, which is also known under the scientific name Anthurium and originally comes from Central or South America. The scientific name derives from the Greek words anthos for flower and oura for tail and it is particularly interesting as a houseplant and is very appreciated especially for its air-cleaning property. It can help to filter pollutants such as xylene, formaldehyde or ammonia from the air and it has even proven positive against electrosmog and is a great enrichment due to the wonderful colors as well as the abstract-looking flowers. In care it is not quite so easy and it is important to note that the humidity is constantly high and is in a range of about 50-80% and it also requires a location that is as bright as possible and it is optimal to spray the leaves with water from time to time. As mentioned, the location should be bright but not in the direct sun and it is optimal to use a substrate that is well permeable and calcareous and important is to supply it with enough nutrients during the growth period and to pay attention to the right watering and this exotic flower can be easily multiplied and the simplest possibilities are by division, seeds or by cuttings. From a symbolic point of view, it is also rooted and is often seen as a sign of self-confidence, strength or elegance and is suitable for anyone looking for something tropical, but it is important to pay attention to the right care.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about nature! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens!
