Exploring Victoria and Albert Museum in London
Hey everyone, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you all have a great start to the new week! In my new contribution I would like to share something about an experience with you that I made in London and am happy if you can learn new things or get to know a new place.
On my last day when I was in London, I still had some time before I had to go to the airport which is why I decided to visit the well-known Victoria and Albert Museum which is located in the South Kensington district. It's a very old museum that has been created in the 19th century and was named after the British royal couple Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and has developed into one of the most famous museums in the world which is extremely popular because of its diverse collection. The Victoria and Albert Museum is now more than a single museum, but a separate brand which was created which can be found at several locations and a lot also revolves around research or promotion of culture and depending on the location the project can also vary. The main museum is divided into different areas and there should be something for pretty much everyone here and even if it seems unimaginable for the first time, the collection contains several million pieces that reflect the history of people from numerous cultures.
At the beginning I thought it was a smaller museum, but was quickly proved wrong, which is why I can only recommend everyone to plan a lot of time to get the most out of the visit. It can also be advisable to get a picture of it and to pick out the topics for which there is a special interest because I don't think it's possible to visit everything in one day because I was here almost all day and there was still so much to visit that I just couldn't do anymore. Even when it comes to the entrance fee, I was fascinated because the museum is free of charge, but this explicitly refers to the permanent exhibition and a fee may probably be incurred for the special exhibition, which is completely fair and I can only encourage everyone to leave a small donation here to support the museum and all the work behind it. Some of the works that can be found here are considered unique and numerous works by famous artists such as Michelangelo or others can be found here and the thematic areas are not small exhibitions but large rooms that present art from all over the world.
There is also a huge collection of blacksmithing which extends over almost an entire floor and you can see the diversity of the different art movements that can be found here and for me it was so far one of the most interesting museums in which I was so far because things of all cultures could be found here. In addition to the diverse exhibition, the building is already very inviting and due to the breathtaking architecture one of the most beautiful buildings in the city which is divided into different parts and I also liked the courtyard very much. Because of all the works of art from all possible areas as well as countries, the visit was extremely exciting all the time and I can only recommend this experience to everyone who should be in the city, but as mentioned, at least the whole day should be planned to see as much as possible, but I can not guarantee that everything can be visited because of this enormous size.
Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new and like my post and appreciate my effort! I captured these pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm and iPhone 16.

more than a day?? that's huge!
it has some good pieces, i liked a lot expecially the paintings
Well you can visit it in one day but if someone wants to see everything exactly, I would actually plan two days.
The building is huge, I can imagine why you said one can't cover the museum on one visit. The paintings are beautiful, I like the view.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for your kind words :)
It's my pleasure 😊!

That’s right, it should definitely be visited once! I was very surprised by this enormous variety of exhibits. I hope you’re feeling a little better now, you told me some time ago that you just had some stressful days? :)
