Exploring the Bavarian National Museum

Hey dear community, I hope you are all doing well and you have a day that has brought many positive experiences into your life! Today I would like to share an experience with you which I made while travelling and am happy as always if you like my contribution.

During my travels, I visited the national museums pretty much every time I was in the capitals and also when I was in the Free State of Bavaria, I decided to visit the Bavarian National Museum. Compared to other museums of this kind, this was in any case the largest I have visited so far and I had to divide the excursion into two days because it's almost impossible in my eyes to look at everything in one day at least if all objects are carefully appraised. I am sure that there are also people who are through in a few hours, but if you want to see everything in detail, you have to remember the golden rule to bring a lot of time and in any case it's time that is worthwhile because the museum is really multifaceted and has so much to offer! In the collection there are tens of thousands of different objects and the museum is particularly known for the large collection of cribs, furniture, art of blacksmithing, paintings and other forms of art and especially represented here are works of the baroque.

In the museum itself, in addition to the permanent exhibitions, there are also changing ones and during my visits I was able to visit a total of two special exhibitions which were all included in the price and in general the price for everything on offer is simply unbeatable and extremely fair and while the museum otherwise costs 7€, it can be visited almost free of charge on Sundays and here there is of course always to note that the prices can vary for different groups of people. The building itself in which the museum is housed is already a amazing work of art and in addition to the numerous modern rooms there are also some parts of the museum which have been renovated over time while another part highlights the old times. The museum was founded during the 19th century by the former Bavarian King Maximilian II (1811 - 1864) who was generally considered a great promoter of art and culture and in this national museum this passion comes to into its own.

Other well-known names or cultural promoters were also active when it comes to the creation and anyone who goes through the museum will see different influences and this enormous diversity is simply remarkable and highlights are also the large collection of old armor, the porcelain collection, the art made of ivory or the sculptures of various materials. The building itself is a mixture of different styles of architecture and outside there are also some exciting things to discover and it is also important to mention that in addition to the presentation the museum is also very active in research and a diverse program to promote culture. Not only works of art that express local art can be seen here, but also those from other cultures which can be traced back to common parts of history with the free state.

Yes, and I’m sure people can spend even more time here to study everything even more closely. You have to bring a lot of time to visit it :)

So many beautiful works of art... So little time... The building looks amazing and the artwork to match! I love national museums as well, there is always so much history and art collected there. The problem I have always run into is time to see the city and the museums I want to see as well. Great job on the pictures, I can only imagine how many other nice ones you have to remember your visit!

If you have the opportunity to visit a museum like the one in Bavaria, as special as it is said, you cannot visit it so quickly; you have to see everything in detail to learn more about its rich history.

You said that well! In any case, it was an experience that I do not want to miss and I see that you are also very interested in Bavarian culture. Wish you a great day @hjrrodriguez

I agree with you. To go to a museum, you have to go without rushing, to observe and analyze every detail. For example, look at these vases, what cool designs.

It is definitely one of the masterpieces I have seen in recent years when it comes to ceramic art :)
