Exploring Rembrandt House Amsterdam
Hey dear community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you have a great start to the new week so far! In this post I would like to share something about an experience with you that I had in Amsterdam and I am happy if you like my contribution.
On the last day when I was in Amsterdam I still had a few hours before I had to go to the airport and decided to visit the former house of the well-known artist Rembrandt. It had been a perfect conclusion for my trip and when it comes to the variety there was so much to see here and the time I needed for the visit was about two hours and also the price of 20 Euro is definitely fair for everything that is offered. Already at the beginning, I was asked if I want an audio guide but I am usually not a huge friend of it because usually in museums everything is also described in text form but this is different here and I would like to recommend everyone to remember to choose an audio guide which is included in the entrance fee. The museum is multifaceted and offers both an insight into the life of the artist and mixes some exciting facts about the private life of the artist with his art in general.
The house is open every day and I had no problems acquiring a ticket on site, but I can imagine that there are also times on which it's much more crowded and to be on the safe side here, it may be worthwhile to book tickets online beforehand. The entrance fee includes a lot and there are even performances that take place every 20 minutes and show more about the techniques of the artist and especially much can be seen here when it comes to etchings of which hundreds of works can be seen here. Anyone interested in art should definitely come here because nowhere is his life reported as authentic as here and here he had his studio, place of residence and at the same time it was an important location for the trade with works of art.
He lived here for almost 20 years and this is also considered the place of origin for some of his greatest works, but it must be mentioned that if there had not been circles that had cultivated this culture, this authenticity would never have come true, because a few decades ago a large part of the house was renovated and much of his life reconstructed. Most of the things that are seen in the rooms are an original piece from his lifetime and everything was prepared as he probably lived at that time and another factor is in any case also that about the life in Amsterdam during his lifetime in general is reported. There are over 10 rooms to explore and in the lower area even space for special exhibitions with changing themes and also for parents who play with the idea of taking their children with them there is a separate program. It is also important to mention that works of other artists can also be seen here and I can only recommend every visitor to the city to take the time to visit the house and especially those interested in art will get their money's worth here.
Thank you very much for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new and like my post! I captured these pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens and iPhone 16.

What a cool location to have visited! I've never spent enough time in Amsterdam to really see all I would like, I most certainly didn't get to see his former home. Those are some great pictures, and it's interesting to see some of his art there as well. I'm glad you enjoyed it, it looks awesome!
