Exploration of the Murnauer Moos
Hey everyone, first of all I would like to wish you all a pleasant week and hope you are all doing well so far! In my post I would like to share an experience with you which I had on one of my trips and I am happy if you like my contribution.
In the past I made a very special experience close to nature and when I was in Bavaria I decided to visit one of the largest moors in Europe which was already recommended to me a year ago. This area is located near the artist village Murnau which is also known for well-known painters like Gabriele Münter who have lived here and everywhere around the small town there are natural places like mountains. The Murnauer Moos is already thousands of years old and experts are guessing that it could have arisen over 10,000 years ago after the first ice age and probably this area was once full of glaciers that later became landscapes. Of course, it depends on how much time and energy someone has, but I would plan at least one day for the excursion and in any case choose the circular route which is a few kilometres long and first leads through the moss and then a forest. That others do not make the same mistake as me should definitely be remembered to take as much as possible to drink and I only had half a litre of water with me which is definitely not enough and also on the way there are no sales stands to strengthen themselves.
I saw a note for a coffee house on the way, but I can't say more about it because I wasn't there, but later in a traditional Bavarian restaurant, which is located right next to the parking lot for which I would like to give a clear recommendation. The moor is almost unbeatable in diversity and hundreds of different species of animals live here and also the number of plants is in any case considerable and what makes the whole thing even more interesting is that some rare plants can be found here. It was an extremely natural experience because a large part of the area even goes directly through the moor over footbridges that were set up here and first I thought that this was only a small piece until I noticed that the they partly extended over kilometres. I have seen some rare birds and plants that naturally benefit from this great environment and the whole landscape offers numerous perfect opportunities to take pictures. Most of the area is a nature reserve and even on an international level this area is known among nature conservationists because it makes an enormous contribution to the protection of the climate and those who should visit Bavaria and are looking for a great place are in the best hands here.
Thank you very much for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new and like my post! I captured these pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm.

When you mention the amount of water you carry, I'm reminded of a camping trip with some friends. We were planning to stay a weekend, but the weather didn't allow us to, so the extra day we were there was unforgettable, not because of how enjoyable it was.... Quite the opposite: nothing was enough, not the water or the food. I watch some reality shows where people compete without eating anything for several days; I couldn't do this one day without water or food, I thought I'd faint.
Yes, it’s really annoying, especially if it’s still hot like that day. I didn’t think it would take so long. Especially if someone like you is on the road for several days, probably even more problematic. In an emergency, there are many possibilities in nature :)
Wow, such a fabulous place you have been for your nature explore. I love the nice atmosphere where you were travelled. Beautiful landscaping images friend.
I have travelled through so many areas and natural moments are always a great experience :)
This place looks incredible. The moor, forest and wild life is so beautiful. The footbridges over the moor is the most amazing part, I will dream of visiting this place, when i get the liberty I'll make that dream come true 😂🥰
Always happy to share my experiences so that others can learn about new spots :)
I respect that that's so thoughtful of you
