To be seen here is a work of art which is supposed to represent Diomedes who was also revered as a hero figure and in his later life he also became King Argos who was considered an important center in antiquity and was important for the local economy. Diomedes is also the son of Tydeus and Deipyle and after his death, he was also revered as a divine being and he was known for having participated in some warlike scenarios and so during the Trojan War he led a large fleet of ships which he sent out from Argos and he fought together with other gods such as the goddess of wisdom Athena as well as the war god Ares at the side of the Greeks. Even though he bravely resisted the Trojan War, he was forced to return with his fleet and one of his best-known friends was Odysseus and he was prophesied that he would only be able to win against Troy with the help of the bow of Heracles and they sailed to the island of Lemnos, which is also known as the island of Hephaestus, to get to the bow of Heracles who was there. The legends about Diomedes often vary greatly and there are different versions and he was generally considered a hero who had also participated in other conflicts and so he was also part of the battle of Thebes or Aetolia and according to some legends he was later immortalized by Athena and his cult extended from Greece where a temple was consecrated to him to Italy where he had numerous places of worship and he was probably known there under different names and with this torso his appearance probably comes into its own.
