By boat around Lake Starnberg
Hey everyone, at the beginning I would like to welcome you all to my new contribution and hope you have a weekend so far which has brought numerous great experiences into your lives! In my new post I would like to share something about one of my experiences which I have made while travelling and I am happy if you appreciate what I do.
During my time in Bavaria I decided to visit lake Starnberg where I have already collected some positive impressions in the past. I decided to explore the whole area on this day and for this a steamboat trip has turned out to be the best option which has the advantage that the most famous places can be visited. There are several options that can be chosen and I chose the large trip which lasted a little longer than three hours, but the positive thing here is that visitors can get out at any time to explore the desired village and later get back into another steamer. I first went to Starnberg to start the trip there and if someone like me should be there too early this is no problem because in the meantime the area can be explored a little to which clearly the promenade belongs at the lake which I liked very much and it was also relatively quiet at the time of day when I was there.
Starnberg is an artist's place known for its good quality of life and when I was at the bakery there in the morning I had the first positive experience and met a friendly woman with who I talked about poetry and this was a perfect start into the day. I later decided to take the first steamer and bought the large round trip for about 25 euros which is really fair for the long trip around the lake and it must also be taken into account as already mentioned that the ship can be left all the time at the different places and then the village can be explored and the next ship be entered with the same ticket. How much someone wants to learn from his excursion depends entirely on the time, how much someone has and how interested someone is in the culture and since I have already been there some times before, I already knew a lot of these places, which is why I decided to leave the steamer in the small village Seeshaupt to explore the area there. For everyone who is there for the first time, I can highly recommend to choose the large round trip from Starnberg and to make the first detour in Feldafing and from there to make a trip to the Rose island which, as the name already suggests, is an island on which an incredibly beautiful flora can be found and is additionally full of history.
The Rose island was a well-known place for the Bavarian royal family and was designed by Ludwig II from the house of the Wittelsbach and if you generally want to learn more about the royal history of Bavaria, I can also recommend going out in the town Berg or Leoni. Which route someone plans to visit should best be planned in advance, but for first time visitors it will definitely be worthwhile to leave the ship twice and in short, the Island is one of the highlights for nature as well as history lovers. It is also highly recommended to visit Tutzing, which also has a culturally rich city in which there is also a small museum that goes into more detail about the history and is also recommended for a detour at lunchtime because there are many restaurants like the well-known Midgard house which is named after the Norse mythology. I would also like to give a recommendation for the place Bernried in which the well-known Buchheim Museum is located, which is probably one of the most diverse museums in the area, but it takes a lot of time to visit everything here and it can be worthwhile to start a separate trip to get here.
Seeshaupt is rather quiet compared to the other places and rich of nature and the reason why I landed here was that I already knew most of the others and here I visited a stylish restaurant in which I took a lunch break and also enjoyed the natural view. The steamer itself drives all the time past historic buildings such as the castle in Possenhofen which was inhabited by the well-known Empress Elisabeth of Austria or Sissi for short and the captain or the crew of the ship also regularly makes announcements to explain these places in more detail and also discusses the general history of the lake. On board there is a stylish ambiance and there is also a bistro on board where food or drinks can be bought and this is probably one of the best places to enjoy a coffee and in general, I would say that this is something that visitors to the area should not miss!
Thank you very much for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new and like my post! I captured these pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm and iPhone 16.

Hello @elevator09, the photos you show us of Lake Starnberg and its surroundings convey a tremendous sense of peace. I think it's a perfect place to disconnect from the hectic pace of modern life!
Yes it really is! And another of the more beautiful places in Germany, in part some areas have already come down quite a bit. There are still corners of culture everywhere, but I am no longer attracted to some cities like Berlin. The western part of the country has a lot to offer! :) Thanks a lot for your kind words!
It had been a pleasure to read your post!

I think the trip to Lake Starnberg must have been a wonderful and relaxing trip. The scenery around was beautiful. The way Lake Starnberg flows in a very clear and calm blue color is an example of the charm of nature. The way the birds bask in the sun so freely is fascinating.
Thank you for your kind words! Yes, that's true, the water is really extremely clear and the whole area is just full of diversity and rich in history.
These are really amazing pictures actually
