Sombras en los pasillos (Foto-Experiencias)/Shadows in the hallways (Photo-Experiences)

These images were captured by me with my Samsung Galaxy A10 cell phone camera on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 16, 2026. The lighting was very strong in the hallways, creating very pronounced shadows, and in some areas of the Vice-Rectorate of Unellez in Guanare, Venezuela... Without further ado, let's begin...

Estas imágenes fueron captadas por mí, con la cámara de mi celular Samsung Galaxy A10 en la tarde del martes 16 de diciembre de 2026, con iluminación muy acentuada en los pasillos con sombras muy pronunciadas y algunos lugares propios del Vicerrectorado de la Unellez en Guanare - Venezuela... Sin más, comencemos...

The Vice-Rectorate of Unellez in Guanare is a historically significant site for Venezuelan education. It housed Venezuela's first high school, the Liceo José Vicente de Unda, and is now home to the University of the Plains (Unellez). Cultural activities, such as the Unellez Vpa Dance Group, take place there, where my daughter Adamarys dances. As a parent representative, I have to wait in those hot, shadowy hallways until the end of rehearsals...

It's during this wait, as you can see in the cover image, that we can play with the lens. It's incredible how the brighter the light, the greater the shadows cast in the hallways of this institution...

El Vicerrectorado de la Unellez en Guanare, es un sitio histórico de gran relevancia para la educación venezolana; puesto que en él funcionó el primer liceo de Venezuela: el Liceo José Vicente de Unda, hoy funciona la Universidad de los llanos (Unellez), en donde además se realizan actividades culturales como Danzas La Unellez Vpa, donde baila mi hija Adamarys y a uno le toca, como representante, esperar hasta la salida de los ensayos, en esos pasillos tan calurosos y llenos de sombras...

Es en esa espera y como pueden ver en la imagen de portada donde podemos jugar con el lente. Es increíble como a mayor luz ocurre mayor proyección de sombras en los pasillos de esta institución...

At the front of the corridors are courtyards and green areas, with ornamental trees that also hold historical significance... There are many plants, and therefore, many shadows are cast across the courtyard, complementing the earth tones and the sparse vegetation during this summer season. This is advantageous because it allows us to see a greater presence of shadows in a university center nestled in the heart of the city, leading us to appreciate nature and its darkness... Beyond the somberness of the buildings, nature takes center stage in these kinds of images...

Al frente de los pasillos, hay patios y áreas verdes, con árboles ornamentales que también tienen memoria histórica... Hay muchas plantas y por ende, tenemos muchas sombras proyectadas en el patio que hacen juego con los colores de la tierra y su proyección con la poca vegetación es esta época de verano, la cual es ventajosa porque permite que podamos ver mayor presencia de sombras en un centro universitario enclavado en el centro de la ciudad y que nos lleva a apreciar la naturaleza y sus obscuridades... Más allá de lo sombrío de las edificaciones, la naturaleza tiene protagonismo en este tipo de imágenes...

Finally, we can see the dark remains of the city's first aqueduct, which is over 230 years old. It is now disused because, over time, the population grew, and the current "La Coromoto" Reservoir provides the residents of Guanare with a reliable source of drinking water.

This city is surrounded by rivers and freshwater streams that have sustained the population since time immemorial. May this gallery serve as a visual representation of our architectural and natural past and present, leading us to appreciate our surroundings beyond a mere photograph. Until next time. Por último, podemos ver los oscuros del primer acueducto de la ciudad, el cual tiene más de 230 años de existencia. Hoy está en desuso porque con el paso del tiempo, la población creció y con el actual Embalse "La Coromoto" el guanareño se surte de buena fuente de agua potable

Esta ciudad es un lugar rodeado de ríos y de caudales dulces que han hidratado a la población desde tiempos inmemoriales. Sea esta galería parte visual de nuestro pasado y presente arquitectónico y natural que nos lleva a valorar nuestro entorno, más allá de una fotografía. Hasta la próxima. Dios les bendiga...
