[EN/PT] Holiday in Natal - Rio Grande do Norte

Last weekend, here in Brazil, was extended due to the holiday of September 7th, Brazil's Independence Day. My wife and I had planned this trip since the beginning of the year, as we had always wanted to see the main tourist attractions in the city of Natal - Rio Grande do Norte.

Looking at the route of the trip, you can see that we left a coastal region, which also has beaches. However, as the incentive for tourism is low in my region, the structure of most of the beaches is not inviting. And also because traveling and seeing new places is always good for renewing your energy.

The first destination on our trip was the town of Pipa, where we visited Love Beach (Praia do Amor). To get there we drove 484 miles, which took 12 hours. This beach isn't very busy, even on a national holiday we didn't notice large crowds of people. I really appreciate quiet places, because we went out to relax.

O último final de semana, aqui no Brasil, foi prolongado devido ao feriado de 7 de Setembro, dia da Indepedência do Brasil. Eu e minha esposa já haviamos programado de fazer essa viajem desde o início do ano, pois sempre tivemos vontade de conhecer os principais pontos turísticos da Cidade de Natal - Rio Grande do Norte.

Observando a rota da viajem é possível perceber que saímos de uma região litorânea, que também possui praias. Porém, como o incentivo ao turismo é baixo, na minha região, a estrutura da maioria das praias não são convidativas. E também, porque viajar e conhecer lugares novos é sempre bom para renovar as energias.

O primeiro destino de nossa viajem foi na cidade de Pipa, onde conhecemos a Praia do Amor. Para chegar lá foi percorrido cerca de 789 Km, que duraram 12 horas de viajem. Esta praia não é muito movimentada, mesmo em um feriado nacional não percebemos grande multidão de pessoas. Eu realmente aprecio locais calmos, pois saímos para relaxar.

Access to Beach Love (Praia do Amor) is via a long staircase, as it is located in the lower part of the beach. My wife and I stayed at Restaraunte Amo, which has a good structure and its own staircase. However, the prices are relatively high compared to the tents on the lower part of the beach. As we had paid an entrance fee to use all the facilities at the Restaurant, which could be converted into a meal, we ended up having lunch here.

O acesso a praia do Amor se dar por meio de uma longa escadaria, pois ela fica na parte baixa. Eu e minha esposa ficamos no Restaraunte Amo, que tem uma boa estrutura e tem sua própria escadaria. Porém, os preços são relativamente altos comparados com as barracas que ficam na parte baixa na beira da praia. Como haviamos pagado uma taxa de entrada, para utilizar toda estrutura do Restarante, que podia ser convertida em consumação acabamos almoçando neste local.

The place is very beautiful, with a cinematic atmosphere that makes for wonderful photos. In the morning we rested from the trip and basically stayed at the Restaurant, enjoying the facilities. Of course, we also took some photos to record the moment and the place. The restaurant offers a shuttle service that takes tourists to the nearest town by train.

O local é muito lindo com um ambiente cinematográfico que rende maravilhosas fotos. Pela parte da manhã descançamos da viajem e ficamos basicamente no Restaraunte, aproveitando a estrutura. É claro também tiramos algumas fotos para registrar o momento e o local. O restaurante oferece um serviço de translado que leva os turistas a cidade mais proxima, com uma espécie de trem.

Facing the restaurant we had a beautiful view of the Beach Love (Praia do Amor). We spent most of our time using the restaurant's facilities until lunchtime. It's incredible how everyday problems are forgotten when you're in contact with nature and enjoying the best that life has to offer.

De frente para o restaurante temos uma linda vista da Praia do Amor. Passamos a maior parte do tempo utilizando a estrutura do restaurante, até o momento do almoço. É incrível como os problemas do dia a dia são esquecidos quando estamos em contato com a natureza desfrutando o melhor que a vida tenha a oferecer.

I'm the kind of person who doesn't skimp on a trip, after all, I want to take advantage of everything the place has to offer, whether it's tours or typical local food. However, the Restaurant Amo was out of my league and we ended up ordering one of the cheapest dishes on the menu, as the prices were abusive compared to those offered in the establishments on the beach, down the steps.

We also didn't manage to take a quad bike ride, as the time we had at this location was limited until after lunch. By the time we discovered Quadricycles, it was already late and we were sad that we hadn't done it, in order to get to know Pipa's most beautiful spots. The reason was not for financial reasons, as the tour only cost $60 to go around the place and the nearby town. 😢

Apart from these two events, the day was wonderful. After lunch, we walked down the steps and enjoyed a bit of the Praia do Amor before heading back to the hotel, which is about 2 hours from the beach. We stayed at the Hotel Monza Palace, which is located in Natal City and was our resting place for three days.

Eu sou o tipo de pessoa que não economiza em um viaje, afinal quero aproveitar tudo o que o local tem a oferecer, seja em passeios ou em comida tipicas da região. Porém, o Restaurante Amo esta fora da minha realidade e acabamos pedindo um dos pratos mais baratos do cardápio, pois os preços eram abusivos, em comparação com os oferecidos nos estabelecimentos na parte da praia, descendo a escadaria.

Também não conseguimos fazer um passeio de quadriciclo, pois o tempo que tinhamos neste local era limitado até depois do almoço. Quando descobrimos os Quadriciclos já era tarde e ficamos triste por não tê-lo feito, para conhecer os pontos mais bonitos de Pipa. O motivo não foi por questões financeiras, pois o passeio custava apenas 180 BRL para percorrer o local e a cidade ali perto. 😢

Excluindo este dois eventos, o dia foi maravilhoso. Depois do almoço descemos a escadaria e curtimos um pouco a Praia do Amor antes de partimos para o Hotel, que fica a cerca de 2 horas desta praia. Ficamos hospedado no Hotel Monza Palace, que está localizado na Cidade de Natal e foi nosso repouso durante três dias.

I believe that life has to be in constant balance. Whenever possible and if you can afford it, take a trip, because life goes by so fast and we don't enjoy the good things in life. We run after money, which, if not used correctly, is of no use to us and won't bring us happiness.

Eu acredito que a vida tem que está em constante equilíbrio. Sempre que possível e tiver condições financeira faça uma viajem, pois a vida passa tão rápido e não aproveitamos as coisas boas da vida. Corremos atrás do dinheiro, que se não usados de forma correta não lhe serve para nada e não trará felicidades.

On the second day we left the city of Natal and went to Jacumã Beach. The journey took about an hour, where we spent the day at the Miramar Restaurant. Unlike the first restaurant, you only had to pay a single price of 85 BRL per person, which entitled you to eat any dish except drinks. And I can tell you that it was worth every penny, as there were several dishes, including fish, seafood, shrimp and even barbecue.

The Miramar Restaurant has a breathtaking structure, with free tastings of various types of drinks at the entrance. It's a place where tourists really feel at ease.

No segundo dia saímos da cidade de Natal fomos para Praia de Jacumã, o percurso levou cerca de 1 hora, onde passamos o dia no Miramar Restaurante. Diferente do primeiro Restaurante, pagava-se apenas um valor único por pessoas de 85 BRL, que dava direito a consumir qualquer prato, menos bebidas. E posso te falar que valeu cada centavos, pois existiam diversos pratos, entre peixes, mariscos, camarão e até churrasco.

O Miramar Restaraunte conta com uma estrutura de tirar o folego, na entrada existe degustação grátis de vários tipos de bebidas. É um espaço em que o turista realmente se sente bem a vontade.

But the first thing we did was take an adrenaline-pumping buggy ride. The buggy ride is very radical, as the buggy driver zigzags up and down the dunes for several meters, and the feeling is that the vehicle is going to come crashing down.

In addition to the extreme ride, the Buggy stops at a place where you can descend into a beautiful lake, via a zip line or a canvas ramp using a board or a buoy, all of which are high-speed options offering a unique experience. When you reach the lake, there is a trolley that takes you back to the top. I went down into the lake with the board and my wife preferred to go down from Tiloreza.

Mas, a primeira coisa que fizemos foi fazer um passeio de buggy com muita adrenalina. O percurso feito pelo Buggy é muito radical, pois o motorista do Buggy faz ziguezague em dunas subindo e descendo vários metros a sensação é que o veiculo irá virá.

Além do passeio radical, o Buggy para em um local onde é possível descer em um lindo lago, através de uma tirolesa ou uma rampa com lona utilizando uma prancha ou uma boia, todas essas opções são em alta velocidade oferecendo uma experiência única. Chegando ao lago existe um carrinho que transporta as pessoas de volta para parte superior. Eu desci no lago com a prancha e minha esposa preferiu descer de Tiloreza.

The day was really perfect, after the buggy ride we returned to Restaraunte Miramar, where we had lunch and then took advantage of Jacumã beach, where we stayed until 3pm. There's nothing better than a swim in the sea to wash your soul and renew your energy. Unfortunately, I didn't record lunch at Miramar, but I can assure you that there were countless options of dishes, each more delicious than the last, especially the seafood.

O dia foi realmente perfeito, depois do passeio de Buggy voltamos ao Restaraunte Miramar, onde almoçamos e depois aproveitamos a praia de Jacumã, onde ficamso até as 15 horas. Nada melhor do que um banho de mar para lavar a alma e renovar as energias. Infelizmente, não registrei o almoço no Miramar, mas posso garantir que haviam inúmeras opções de pratos cada uma mais delicioso que o outro, em espécial os frutos do mar.

At the end of the afternoon, on our way back to Natal, we stopped off at Genipabu Beach, which is the way to our hotel, to watch the sunset. Arriving at the site, we had to climb a huge dune and halfway up we came across a dromedary, a kind of camel. I would never have imagined seeing one up close in my life, especially in Brazil.

No final da tarde, retornado para Natal passamos na Praia de Genipabu, que é caminho para nosso hotel, para contemplar o pôr do sol. Chegando no local, precisamos subir uma enorme duna e no meio do caminho nos deparamos com dromedário, uma espécie de camelo, nunca na minha vida que imaginária ver um de perto, ainda mais no Brasil.

It was an incredible experience to contemplate nature and the beauty that the Brazilian Northeast has to offer. Afterwards, we went to the highest point of a dune, where we sat and watched the beautiful sunset of this unforgettable day. I loved every moment and it will remain etched in my memories!

Foi uma experiência incrível, contemplar a natureza e as beleza que o Nordeste brasileiro tem a oferecer. Depois, fomos para ponto mais alto de uma duna, onde sentamos e vemos o lindo pôr do sol, deste inesquecível dia. Eu amei cada momento e vai ficar gravado nas minhas memórias!
