[EN/PT] 📸 HiveBR Photo Contest #28 - In the spider's web | Na Teia da aranha

I was looking through my Google Photos gallery for an image of a spider or a web, but I couldn't find anything. So the solution was to look for a real spider web. Here at home, there's no shortage of spiders and their webs, and every week we have to clean the ceilings and walls to alleviate the situation. If we let it build up, the house looks like something out of a horror movie!

As I had recently cleaned the house, there weren't many webs left. The alternative, then, was to look for some outdoors, preferably in the middle of nature. Near my work there is a lot of greenery and, on my way back from lunch just now, I spotted a giant web with a spider on it in the middle of the garden. I didn't think twice: I took some photos to take part in this week's HiveBR Photo competition.

Spiders and their webs are fascinating creatures! They play an essential role in balancing the ecosystem, as they are natural predators of insects. In the rainy season, the number of insects increases a lot, and that's when spiders come into play, along with frogs and lizards, helping to maintain population control and environmental harmony.

Estava procurando na minha galeria do Google Fotos alguma imagem de aranha ou de teia, mas não encontrei nada. Então, a solução foi correr atrás de uma teia de aranha real. Aqui em casa, o que não falta são aranhas e suas teias, toda semana precisamos limpar o forro e as paredes para amenizar a situação. Se deixarmos acumular, a casa parece cenário de filme de terror!

Como havia feito uma faxina recentemente, não restaram muitas teias. A alternativa, então, foi procurar alguma ao ar livre, de preferência em meio à natureza. Perto do meu trabalho há bastante vegetação e, voltando do almoço agorinha mesmo, avistei uma teia gigante com uma aranha no meio do jardim. Não pensei duas vezes: tirei algumas fotos para participar do concurso HiveBR Photo desta semana.

As aranhas e suas teias são criaturas fascinantes! Elas desempenham um papel essencial no equilíbrio do ecossistema, pois são predadoras naturais de insetos. No período chuvoso, o número de insetos aumenta bastante, e é aí que entram em ação as aranhas, junto com sapos e lagartixas, ajudando a manter o controle populacional e a harmonia ambiental.
