Is like a dream
Beautiful and bright
Like a starry night
A mountain stream
Is a team
With rainbow and weather
To flowers and heather

With so bright a gleam
Like a setting sun
When the day is done

I’d be remiss if I spoke about my journey of exploring poetry without including one of my earliest pieces. I wrote this poem in elementary school with vibrant pink and purple pens. I drew what I considered pretty mountains on lined paper using markers and blue ink. We all start somewhere. This poem was inspired by my childhood fantasies of magical mountains, fairies and adventures.
