Sorry, Road Check!

It was still hot, although I could sense that the rainy season was approaching, but sometimes the afternoon sunlight can still be so hot at this time of the year. I was out doing my usual photo hunt around the villa after finishing my assignment, and I still had time on my hands.

But because it was still hot, not many insects or small creatures could be easily seen. I think they were also taking shelter from the heat of the sun. Maybe after the rainy season came, I might have a better chance to easily find them again.

Again I felt hopeless on that photo hunt since there was almost nothing to photograph, and I think it will be another failure before I spotted something moving so fast in the frangipani tree.

I tried my best to follow the movement, and then I found this little grey spider.

At first, I was having a hard time following its movement, since it was so skittish and really didn't want to stop for a long time, and maybe got intimidated by my flash diffuser.

I had to do some roadblocks on its moving path so that this spider would stop a little bit so I could adjust my focusing point so that the photo would be sharp. You can see on the upper left of the photo below, a little bit part of my left index finger that I use to do the roadblock. 😅

Lucky that my roadblock manages to stop this little spider a few times, enough for me to get some decent macro shots. I could also get the focus on its eyes which is great. I also noticed that the pattern on its body blends so perfectly with the frangipani bark. I don't think I could spot it from a distance, even from a close range without noticing its movement.

This is the last shot that I took of this spider when it finally found a way to go around my roadblock and get free. it moved so fast into the higher part of the tree that was already out of my reach to do another roadblock or to take another photo.
