Little Beetle of Chrysobothris solieri

That day I was doing my morning shift to clean up the villa area before the arrival of the guest on the next day. I had little intention of doing a macro photo hunt after working hours since I was not feeling into it at that time.

While I was doing my normal cleaning session, I stumbled upon this little beetle. Like most of my experience, this little creature which is good for photo subjects seemed to always appear when I was not out looking for it.

The beetle was just lying on the floor, inviting me to take photos of it. I thought it was dead since it didn't move a bit when I got close to it. Because I still have things to do, I just left it where I found it and will decide what to do with it after finishing my work.

It seems it was my lucky day since the beetle was still there after I finished my work. And of course, I took my camera and took several photos of this little beautiful beetle. This beetle is Chrysobothris solieri from the Buprestidae family or usually called Jewel beetle because of the shiny metallic color of its body.

Unfortunately, there is not much info about this species, except it comes from the jewel beetle family. And I think it is also considered a pest since its larvae stage will bore a hole into the plant trunk, which will then affect the life of the host plant.
