The Voice Beyond Words ESP/ENG

Speaking isn’t always words.
Finding your voice doesn’t have to involve
the vibration of your vocal cords.
Everything about you expresses.
Everything about you screams.
Everything in you is charged
with who you are—
and yet,
none of that will ever define you completely,
nor condemn you entirely.

Porque hablar no son palabras.
Encontrar tu voz no tiene por qué involucrar
la vibración de tus cuerdas vocales.
Todo de ti expresa,
todo de ti grita,
todo de ti está cargado con lo que eres—
y no,
nunca eso será completamente definitorio
ni condenatorio.

When I was a teenager,
I was terrible.
Whenever I remember that time in my life,
I feel so ashamed.
I did a lot of dumb things,
for no real reason.
I placed myself in corrosive environments,
thinking they were amazing places—
but nothing could’ve been further from the truth.

Cuando fui adolescente fui terrible.
Siempre que recuerdo ese momento de mi vida
me da mucha vergüenza.
Hice cosas muy tontas
por ningún motivo en concreto,
y me coloqué en entornos muy corrosivos
creyendo que eran lugares increíbles…
nada más alejado de la realidad.

But I understand now
that this was the path
that helped me discover
the space I could actually occupy in life—
a place where I hold value.

Pero entiendo que ese fue el camino
que terminó desarrollándome
para saber cuál es el espacio
que puedo ocupar en la vida,
en donde tengo valor.

This teenage girl I saw
was dressed so sweetly,
she moved and expressed herself so gently.
She seemed like such a calm, soft presence—
and seeing her made me reflect:
how beautiful those moments are.

Esta adolescente se vestía y se expresaba muy lindo,
muy tierno,
y se veía como una adolescente muy tranquila.
Este tipo de adolescentes me hace pensar:
qué lindos esos momentos.
